Sarah Cooper takes her Trump impersonation to DNC
Sarah Cooper, writer and comedian, appears on the fourth night of the Democratic National Convention.
Believe it or not, President Trump was one among many speakers on the fourth night of the Democratic National Convention. Well kind of.
TikTok comedian and singer Sarah Cooper made a surprise appearance at Thursday's event, introducing one among her famous lip-syncing traditions to Trump and urging Americans to choose the upcoming presidential election.
“Where are they going? Where are these cards going?” Cooper spoke, echoing Trump's unfounded conspiracy theories about the mail vote. “Who gets them? Who doesn't understand them? ... will they be taken from the postmen and postmen? "
To be clear: there's no evidence to suggest mail ballots are an unreliable voting method, and Cooper has been keen to show Trump's hype in follow-up notes that encouraged everyone to securely exercise their civic responsibility amid the coronavirus crisis.
“Let me describe this in my very own words,” Cooper said, ignoring Trump's behaviour with wide eyes and speaking on to viewers. “I've heard Donald Trump say some fairly untangled things. I've heard them over and once again. But nothing is more dangerous to our democracy than his attack on mail voting during an epidemic.
Here's the truth: Donald Trump doesn't want any folks to vote because he knows he can't win fairly and square. So whether you propose to vote by mail or face to face - in the mask - this is often your vote, and it is your right. Don't let Donald Trump take that from you. "
The Cooper's star has continued to rise in recent months as popular videos mocking Trump's various moments have begun to realize momentum on social media.
Earlier this month, she was featured on Jimmy Kimmel as a guest host on his hit show Late Night. Later this year, she is going to make her Netflix debut together with her recently announced comedy special, "Everything's Fine," which incorporates private guest interviews, graphics and more.
Other last night speakers from DNC include host and actress Julia Lewis-Dreyfus, Senator Cory Booker, American businessman Andrew Yang, former NY City mayor Michael Bloomberg, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, California governor. Gavin Newsom, and in fact former vice-chairman Joe Biden, who has officially accepted the Democratic nomination for president.
