Florida Governor makes a controversial decision regarding Corona virus

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he has lifted all statewide restrictions on companies that were restricted to control the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19. Most importantly, this means that restaurants and bars in the state can now operate at full capacity.

Florida is entering Phase 3 of the reopening, although more restrictions are needed

Florida is entering the third phase of the reopening, and local governments must demonstrate the need for more restrictions as it includes the opening of all companies, and the boycott continues to maintain a curfew

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced yesterday that the state will enter the third phase of the plan to reopen COVID-19, but this executive order differs from previously issued orders that gave local governments broad freedom to implement stricter rules.

Where in Phase 3 which allows all companies to reopen effective immediately also limits local authorities.

Regarding dining places, the agreement states that “Restaurants, including any establishment with a food service license, shall not be restricted by a COVID-19 emergency order by any local government with less than fifty percent (50%) of their internal capacity.”

This also stops "the collection of COVID-19 fines and penalties imposed on individuals," including fines for non-compliance with wearing a mask.

Shortly after Desantis' decision, County Mayor Carlos Jimenez issued a brief statement about what this means for Miami-Dade County:

In Phase 3 all restrictions related to COVID-19 are lifted. However, this does not preclude the county from having its own rules, as agreed by the state.

All businesses may reopen, but the county can still enforce guidelines and protocols.

All restaurants, regardless of the size of their interior spaces, will be allowed to operate at 50% of capacity.

Civil penalties issued for violating the compulsory mask order have been suspended.

"My staff and I consult with the county attorney general's office regarding the obligation to wear masks in companies. We want to ensure compliance with the state order while continuing to act in the best interests of our community," Jimenez said.

"Please note that the county curfew is still in effect from 11:00 PM until 6:00 AM, we will keep residents and businesses informed of any other changes."

Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gilbert, who has been increasingly critical of DeSantis 'handling of the pandemic, appeared on the media after DeSantis' last order.

Gilbert said, "Obviously this was a political decision. It was clearly not aimed at protecting the population or even our economy. I think our governor has always tried to be as much as President Trump as possible and I think he's trying to follow an ill-considered plan when it comes to dealing with The virus is just ignoring the prevailing science and doctors and walking its own path, I think, at the expense of our population, largely. "

Gilbert said: "He refuses to make people wear masks, and I think what he is about to do is not allow us to even ask people to wear masks if we ask them to do so." "I don't know why he politicized this but it is very clear to me that he did."

When asked about his message to residents and visitors, Gilbert said, "Put on the damn mask. Just wear it. Whether we're fine with you or give you a free service, you will have to return to your community. There are people you might hurt. Just do the right thing."

He added, "We can open up our economy, but we have to do it intelligently and cautiously." “I think the governor has just followed in Trump’s footsteps who was just saying, 'Forget it. We will organize rallies and tell everyone that they can do whatever they want. "

He told the governor: Stop politicizing this, really. People die. They are a mother, daughter, wife, best friend or co-worker. Real people are dying. We can open our economy. Tell people to wear a mask. Don't worry about what President Trump will think. Tell them to do so. People can still go to a restaurant with a mask. They can go shopping with a mask. Make it mandatory and people will be healthier. "

Tell us what you think, should the United States be more sanitary?
