Previous California governor and movie superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger performed open-heart surgery in California in 2018 to replace a pulmonary valve.

His representative, Daniel Kitchell, 2 years ago said that the previous surgery was a success and that Schwarzenegger was in stable condition at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had been born with a congenital heart defect, had a pulmonary valve replacement in 1997.

This valve "was never meant to be permanent," said Ketchll, and has reached the end of its life expectancy, which was roughly 10 to 15 years. He said the valve used in the new surgery was a minimally invasive catheter valve replacement.

On Friday, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he had heart surgery.

It might be known as a robot killer. But in real life, he's just a human.

Actor Schwarzenegger, 73 years old, a previous Republican governor of California, announced on social media on Thursday that he had heart surgery.

Schwarzenegger posts on Instagram and Twitter.

Schwarzenegger posted on both Instagram and Twitter, Schwarzenegger shared that he had undergone an aortic valve replacement in Ohio.

A faulty aortic valve is not something you want to think about as it helps blood flow out of the heart and through the rest of the body. It can also lead to coarctation of the aorta and is more common with advancing age. Others, like Schwarzenegger, have had heart problems their entire lives due to a congenital heart defect.

Schwarzenegger wrote that he was already feeling better.

"I feel relaxed and I was already walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your wonderful statues," he wrote on Instagram. "Thanks to every doctor and nurse on my team!"

This is not his first heart surgery

Schwarzenegger underwent an open heart surgery two years ago to replace a pulmonary valve, following a previous pulmonary valve replacement in 1997.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Daniel Kitschel tweeted in 2018: "Conservative Schwarzenegger's pulmonary valve has been successfully replaced and he is currently recovering from surgery and is stable."

The pulmonary valve allows blood to pass from the heart to the lungs. Problems with this valve can lead to pulmonary valve stenosis and regurgitation of the pulmonary valve.

Known persons have undergone similar operations.

Schwarzenegger is not the first politician to grapple with heart problems, nor does he discriminate against party lines. President Donald Trump's medical records revealed that he had a common form of heart disease in 2018, while former Vermont presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders had a heart attack in 2019.
