She is a producer and actress, best known for The Office (2005), Inside Out (2015) and Late Night (2019).

Her middle name, Mindy, is taken from the TV show, Mork & Mindy (1978) (TV).

Her mother was pregnant with her in Nigeria and that was the American show when she met Robin Williams and told him the story, and he didn't believe her.

She graduated from Dartmouth College, where she was a member of improvisation band The Dog Day Players, where she also wrote a comic strip for the campus newspaper titled "Badly Drawn Girl." Graduated from Buckingham, Brown & Nichols Private School in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1997 with Alison Folland. He co-wrote the comedy "Matt and Ben" about Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

She played the role of Ben. She was the first woman to work in a writing office when she started at the age of 26.

Her mother

Swati Chokalingam (1945-2012) was a gynaecologist and obstetrician and once worked at the same Boston hospital with Ronald Krasinski, her father in The Office (2005) (TV) co-starring, John Krasinski. One of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2013. Mindy's mother was an obstetrician and gynaecologist, and she has inspired many storylines in The Mindy Project 2011.

Her parents,

Swati (Rizircar) and Avo Chocalingam, met in Nigeria, and they were both Indian. Her father is Tamil and her mother is Bengali. One of her early influences in comic writing is the Countess of Fawlty Towers (1975).

She described her parents as "conservative assertions of the Republic." She has a daughter, Kathryn Swati Kaling (born December 15, 2017, in Los Angeles at 10:50 am).

Catherine's middle name, Swati, honours her late grandmother, who died of pancreatic cancer in January 2012.

She is a famous American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She first gained recognition when she starred as Kelly Kapoor in the sitcom The Office (2005-2013) on NBC, in which she also worked as a writer, executive producer, and director.

For her work on the series, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series and five times for Outstanding Comedy Series. Kaling gained wider attention by creating, producing, and starring in the comedy series The Mindy Project (2012-2017), which also appeared in five episodes, the Hulu miniseries Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019), and the Netflix comedy-drama I Never Do (2020).

Mindy Kaling revealed that she welcomed a baby boy last month, her second child. Actress "The Mindy Project," 41, dropped news of the sudden birth during her Thursday appearance on "Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

"I'm saying this for the first time now," Kaling said to the host late at night.

"It feels very strange. But I had a baby on September 3rd." "Nobody knew you were pregnant!" Colbert's response.

Laughing, Kaling replied, "I know! I know! That's news for a lot of people." "it's the truth."

Kaling did not give further details of the baby that announced him and seemed surprised that Colbert asked about the child's name.

"Yes, yes. He has a name. His name is Spencer." When Kaling gave birth to her daughter Catherine in 2017, she astonished everyone with something unexpected.

She chose not to reveal the identity of the father, explaining to the New York Times in 2018: "My feeling is that until I talk to my daughter about it, I'm not going to talk to anyone else about it. She is the one she has to choose."
